CLASSES













TINIES - this is for 3 & 4 year old beginners - they complete 2 years in this class before they go to Beginner Level.

BEGINNER - this is for beginner students from 5 years. They stay in this class until they achieve a certain level of tap steps before they move into the Beginner/Junior level.

BEGINNER JUNIOR - this is for children who are over 8 years of age. They can be beginner students or students of more ability.  When they are at a more advanced level they will need to change their day of dance to either Tuesday or Thursday to go into Junior. Teacher will decide this move.

JUNIOR - students need to have attained a high level of tap steps.  If they proceed with this class before they achieve the necessary tap steps, they may find it a struggle. It is recommended they start at beginner/junior level and then will be assessed.

INTERMEDIATE - these students are from high school age - all levels of dance.

SENIOR - this is for mid-teen years & older.

ACRO - no age limit  Beginner Acro is for beginners with little or no experience.
Acro students are required to do jazz or ballet class as acro requires dance moves as well as tricks.
         Promotion to the next level will be decided by the teacher - the following are             minimum levels for acro grading:
Beginner Acro -
  • Push up bend back
  • Push up bend back with leg up & demi Pointe (on toe)
  • Roly poly into middle split
  • Cartwheel on preferred side - "Stretched legs & feet"
  • Handstands onto wall
  • Bend back down wall
  • Leg mounts from floor on both sides
  • Shows strength in balances
Junior Acro - "Stretched legs & feet" for all tricks
  • Cartwheels on both side
  • One hand cartwheel on both sides
  • Bend back from standing
  • Roundoff
  • Straight over (handstand, bend back, come up)
  • Leg mount on both sides from standing

BALLET/LYRICAL - little or no experience necessary - minimum age is 7 years and all ballet is mixed ages.

HIP HOP - hip hop moves are difficult so our minimum age for hip hop is 8 years.

EXAMS - offered to all students who are interested - Grade 1,2 & 3 - teacher will decide the appropriate level for each student.
